Wizard Universe: Toyfare sat down with voice actor Diedrich Bader to talk about the upcoming cartoon series 'BATMAN: BRAVE AND THE BOLD'.
I'm looking forward to this new take Batman cartoon, more so as I know my kids are going to love this, especially when they notice voice actor Tom Kenny of the Spongebob cartoon, who will be voicing Plastic Man...
WIZARD: How did you develop your Batman voice?
BADER: I tried to bring the gravitas that he needs. The way I'm able to relieve that a little bit is we never see Bruce Wayne in the show. But there is a Bruce Wayne voiceover. The Batman is actually a character that Bruce Wayne plays in order to save the world. So, we kind of leaven Batman a little bit with Bruce Wayne. Not to say it's a radically different voice, but the idea was to take that voice and make it funny. We do it with a sense of irony and dryness, hopefully it will be good. A lot of the humor from the show comes from the guest stars, however. Having such incredibly talented guest stars come on the show is a pip.

The new rumor from Batman-On-Film is that Christopher Nolan is bringing the band back as early as next year, with preproduction possible already starting?

Superherohype.com have revealed the covers to the Dark Knight Blu-ray DVD along with an exclusive 2 -Disc Batpod Limited Edition...
Although the standard commercial version of the Blu-ray release will probably have the same poster image of Batman standing in front of a building emblazoned with his logo, we've received an image of a Blu-ray cover featuring an image of Heath Ledger's Joker, and we also have a look at the insert of the Special Edition Blu-ray, which will be available at the same time.Our source that hooked us up with these imagies told us that the Blu-ray would include "BD Live" and that there would be a 3-disc version with the 3rd disc being a digital copy for iPod or other video player.

What better way for the DC Universe to get into spirit for the Halloween season than the launch of the six-issue, Tom Mandrake-illustrated miniseries entitled “Superman and Batman vs. Vampires and Werewolves,” with the first two issues slated for October 15 and October 29, respectively.
VanHook ended up on the new Superman/Batman project after his long-time friend Jimmy Palmiotti introduced him to DCU Executive Editor Dan DiDio last year at Wizard World in Los Angeles. “I mentioned that I was thinking of getting my hand back into comics again and one thing led to another,” VanHook told CBR News. “I was all prepared to explain to Dan that I was a filmmaker now and that I used to write and draw comics, I had co-created Bloodshot, etc. and he stopped me. He used to read my books and he’d pretty much seen all of my movies. It was flattering and cool. Here was a guy that I respected and he knew my stuff. Because of my association with horror, that was the automatic thing to talk about.
VanHook is thrilled to be having his worlds collide as the writer of a horror comic featuring the World’s Finest. “Superman was the first comic I bought. I was eight years old and he fought a character called the Chameleon,” VanHook recalled. “The first Batman stuff I had was the ‘Treasury Edition’ of Denny O’Neil and Neal Adams’ Ra’s Al Ghul stories — beautiful work. They played up the Detective stuff and that’s something I’m very much dealing with in this story.”
