"The Grail" part 4 of 4! In this explosive conclusion to the debut arc, Red Robin's search leads him to the deserts of the Middle East with the League of Assassins by his side. How many lines will he cross to prove that Bruce Wayne is alive? One journey ends, but a far deadlier one begins as Red Robin learns the truth – although he may not survive to tell anyone, because back in Gotham City, Red Robin faces off with the one man who could stop his quest: Batman!
Review by Cory Lewellen
Well when we last left Mr. Drake he had just landed in Iraq, with Owens, Pru and Z waiting for him, (travel
restrictions must have loosened lately). This issue starts with Red Robin back in Gotham, where Batman confronts him... Then flash forward to Iraq where the Assassins quickly show their worth by keeping Tim from getting questioned by US Troops... and to Berlin where we see Tiffany Fox (Lucius's Daughter) looking for Tim why? well we just don't know yet... and back to Iraq where Red Robin finds his starting point for his search to prove that Bruce is still alive.
I have a feeling that someone with enough knowledge of the DC Universe can put together this puzzle, (i have a idea what it might be) there have not been too many surprises n the DC world and i doubt this will be to hard to figure as well, but i am sure it will be a good ride.
The face off with Dick and Tim was done nicely it wasn't overdone, and Tim put a nice end to it saying trust me i have earned it.
Then came a surprise: The Widower and the Council of Spiders, but it raises some questions that kind of bugged me, if the Widower was looking for the three assassins, why didn't he know about Red Robin being with them? It was set up well and i am looking forward to next month's issue.
The main thing I did not like is the almost skitzophrenic tone this series has taken, it jumps around around a lot and makes it hard to focus on the main story, I know this is a deep
story line with a lot going on so it can easily be forgiven to a extent.
The Good: Nice surprise ending
The Bad: skitzophrenic story
Ugly: Tim looks like he 15
Overall: 3.5/5
