Why am I not posting Batman #404 part one of Batman Year One? Well the answer is simple. I don't actually own it (I do now in TPB), but when my Batman comic obsession started my mum use to pick up UK format Batman comics and it was part two I was exposed too outside of the usual Batman world of comics. Tim Burtons movie was dark, but I'd been watching re-runs of the 1966 Batman TV series and my Batman comics up to this point were typical Batman comics the comic book icon.

All of a sudden I was reading a very gritty Batman running from the police, Catwoman was a prostitute (I didn't have any idea what they were at 10 years old) and I was scared... I was finally getting up to speed with what Batman actually represented... Thank you Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli.
